Do you have a budget that you try to stick with either monthly or weekly when sending out books?  I can see myself getting very addicted and spending a lot.  Luckily my bookshelf hasn't gone that fast yet.

Right now I don't have to budget but I can maybe see it in the future as I'll be retiring just before Thanksgiving and may have to rethink things a little.

It's ironic because at that point I'll probably be able to mail books the same or next day, while right now I can only get to the p.o. on Saturdays so I have to accept requests to fit my schedule.

Members do use the Vacation Hold to help schedule or budget their shelves. You can put books on Auto-Request to still be offered books while on Vacation Hold.

Please note VACATION Hold, not individual book hold.  (That other one takes you off of the FIFO line.)

I have put my account on vacation hold once already.  I was just wondering about everyone else.

I do not budget for PBS, but that's because I read between 200 and 300 books per year, and I used to buy them all new. So getting them used already saves me money.

I have a budget for books in general- kindle books, used bookstore or pbs. Once the budget is reached; that is it for the month. Do I miss a book sometimes, yes but the budget also makes me much more picky on when I play games on PBS or decide which book to buy.

I have no budget. I request books that I want and post ones I do not wish to keep, and go with the flow. Some weeks I spend more in postage than others, but it all falls within my budget constraints.

If the amount of postage you are requested to spend per week is a problem, then consider putting your account on vacation hold for a short while and taking it off hold when you have enough money to spend on postage.

I don't have a set budget.  I just keep my credit balance at around 10 credits and post wish list books as I need credits.

No budget here either, but if I hit a period where I have gotten a lot of requests in a short period of time and I feel that I have spent enough money sending books for that month, then I will put my account on vacation hold.

When I kept an active bookshelf, I did what Sally does and just put my account on vacation and made use of the autorquest feature for wish list books.

I just don't post books that are wishlisted if I dont want to send anything out. My bookshelf really doesn't move. I am in the process of donating those to the goodwill (I say process since its 2 sacks a week since I walk). I don't have tons of storage space for things to sit that I know I will never use again so I for space consideration the storing books for months or years isnt going to happen.

My budget is more on how many books I'll send out a week instead of how much I'm willing to spend. I generally don't like to mail more than five books a week (mainly because my postal people don't like it when I waltz in there with fifteen packages to be mailed at one time), so technically my weekly budget is around 20 dollars.
