Another great novel by Hopkins. This book is even better than the first. There are more descriptive characters and her description of the Nevada dessert is lovely. I didnt want this book to end - especially the way it ended. I hope she will write another one soon! Dont be detered by the size and number of pages in this book. It is a quick read and an easy one too! I highly reccomend it!

This book is by far one of the most raw pieces of literature I have ever read. It was sentimental, suspensful, romantic, and so very tragic. It contained foul language, sexual content, yet I feel it is a book any teen should read. Maybe this will make them stop whining, get off their a** and finally be thankful for what they have. Five stars.

This book was very articulate in reading for it is in the form of poems but still has a story to tell, that is very strong. This is a must reader.

Poetically written Pattyn speaks of a life with a father who never really recovered from a tragic and let down pass. Caught in the act which goes against the religious beliefs of her father Pattyn is sent to live with a relative who not only shows her an alternative view of life that she is not use to seeing, but she also meets someone special. While she was sent away to learn a lesson and to realize that her religion will rule her life she finds a new and wonderful life. Unfortunately the past for Pattyn is not just her past, it is also her haunting and will not let her go easily.

"Burned" is the best book Ellen Hopkins has written. It is inspirational and beautifully written. You can't put it down! Don't be fooled by how many pages there are, because if you really look at the pages, they are not filled up. It almost looks like a poem, but when it is said out loud, it sounds like a book.
It satisfies your thirst for a great book, and if beautifully written.

Not my most favorite Hopkins' book but I still thoroughly enjoyed this. If I were to rank, in order, I'd put the Kristina books first, Tricks second, and the rest third.
There is no book by Ellen Hopkins not worth reading IMO. I truly think she has talent seeping from her pores. I'm so thankful I found her books when I did and that I've been able to keep up with the new releases. So many works degrade with time and this is not the case with Hopkins'. While some other authors claim to bring better and better novels to the table without actually coming through, Hopkins' doesn't talk it - she brings it.
