A very interesting and well written play.

This is a super short piece that Steinbeck described as a "play in novel form." Aside from length, it actually has a lot in common with East of Eden; primarily themes and some specific plot points. This is a good, bare bones story you can read in one sitting and be satisfied with, but it doesn't compare to his more fully realized works.
