I read it the day it was released and I really liked it.

But when I looked online at Amazon and other places, there were some who didn't. Anyway some reviewers (one especially) felt his actions constituted emotional abuse and the book should be panned for promoting that.

I didn't think so. The main character is very much an "alpha male" and pretty controlling. But to be fair, he's trying to protect the ones he loves from people trying to capture and/or hurt them.  Under those conditions, I don't think insisting they stay on the ranch and with bodyguards is such a bad idea.

To me, the woman wasn't a wimp at all. In the beginning, she has no resources, she's injured, pregnant, all alone in the world - sure she goes along with the hero's plans. Face it -  there ARE af few times in life when one is quite happy to let someone else take charge and make the decisions for awhile.  Later, I think she just chooses to pick her battles and not argue about things important to him but not that important to her. If something was of value to her, she'd fight for it. There are two kids involved that are the center of her universe and she's pretty happy in her life. And in the end - I doubt I'm spoiling this for you - it does have a "happily ever after".

I'll be interested to know what you think. Please write back after you've read it.

It sounds good. I liked the other Leopard books, just waiting for the WL to shrink a bit and then I'll get mine!

I finished it this morning. I thought it was great.  I thought both main characters were good , like Jo said he is alpha male but what else would you expect of a leopard. I liked the way she gave the back ground of the hero as short chapters of his life in the first of the book. But gave us a small surprise on the background of  the female.  I also enjoyed the supporting characters and hope to see them in their own book soon.

I couldn't wait for the book, so I went and bought it!  I have been waiting for this to be sent to me, and so far it hasn't been (if they sent it, they haven't marked it).  Loved how she brought characters from the Rainforest into this book.  I like Alpha Males------------------especially when they are gazillionaires.....................hope my husband doesn't mind!  I hope we don't have to wait as long for the next book to come out.

So which one of you did I just get a request from? LOL! I listed it and it was snatched up by someones wish list lickety split ;-) Shipping it out tomorrow.

It was a good book...the hero was a man that had gone thru so much in his childhood still was able to have a heart...a little controlling or not...I didn't think of it as emotional abuse at all. He was protective and a little bossy at times but then when do they ever actually say WHY they are doing something...the hero/heroine never explain themselves fully til the end. ;-)
