Carmine, Yvette's self-described "sweetheart" after a chance encounter at a club, maintains a cloud of secrecy and suspense. With Carmine, it is classic example of "what you see is what you get." The overall theme of the book strategically shifts rapidly from playful to eventful with each passing page. As in reality, characters are engrossed in drama, danger and at times, misfortune. Choices are ultimately made, and as a result, repercussions are inevitable. Expect misfortune to be a central focus as well as the unexpected.
