WOW! What an incredible story! To live through the abuse of his parents and find out his father is a child murderer on the run. He over came his demons and is such a great advocate for children today. This book has very graphic language - but it is the truth that needed to be told.

Not as horrific as some of the child abuse cases I've read about, but definately an interesting account. The discovery of who his parents really are was a surprise to me. My heart goes out to the little boy Chip once was in the story. His courage is inspirational and I love how his love Lisa helped and encouraged him to reveal his creative side. Even though the book goes back and forth from childhood to more present day, it was easy to follow, and in my opinion well written.

Twice i have read this novel. Both times i found it very interesting. It is so hard for me to understand how people have children and yet do not want them. Why do they not just give them up for adoption so the child might have a better life? Instead they are cruel and not worthy of love from a child. No matter how long i live i will never understand how someone could kill a child by a slow mental death or just out and out murder. Why?? Neither time i read this was my question answered, but both times i found an sad but interesting read.

This book is an intimate chronicle of a man's journey through abuse as a victim and his metamorphosis into an amazing man who conquers his demons on by one with his partner Lisa by his side. It is a sad story with a satisfying ending. It is a quick and easy read, in that it is well written. Recommended!

Love the book. While the story did drag at times, the book was so good, I was almost glad for those times. I read it in one sitting! While reading about child abuse is always a heart wrenching ride, reading about the ultimate victory of the victim rising above the abuse to find love and become a happy individual makes the ride worthwhile.
