I'm just curious. What happens if we buy credits off someone and send them money but they never send the credits? Or if someone sends credits but never receives a payment?

I've bought credits from quite a few members and have not had a problem.  I'd say if you do, send feedback.  You probably won't get your money back but I would think the person would get kicked off the site.  If you're selling, I would not give the person credits until you have received payment.

I had an experience just the other day where it took over 24 hours to get the credits I bought and I thought for sure the person had scammed me.  Luckily it worked out - some people are faster than others at completing the transaction.

I think since it is an off-site transaction the site will refuse to be involved. That would be the much smarter option on their part, and they may have to not be involved before they end up legally entangled.

I've sold credits a few times.  I only take Paypal w/a checking account and I don't transfer the credits until the money's been transferred. If I had to buy credits, I would only buy them from someone who's very active on PBS.  Someone who posts a lot and has an active account.  I would just feel like if they are here so much they are not likely to stiff me the credits I bought.  Plus if they're here everyday, you'll get them faster then from someone who only comes on every few days. I think if I had to buy credits, I wouldn't buy more than a few the first time I bought them from someone.  Just in case.

I don't think there's anything PBS would do if you got stiffed. I would report it but they aren't going to take someone's credits from them to give to you. They might send them a warning which could prompt the credits into being transferred.  Or if there were other complaints, they could close the account.

I would think R&R would look into it and boot anyone doing something like that. They do not want their site used to rip people off so I think they would take it very seriously and get involved until the transaction was completed satisfactorily.  SInce it IS a transaction approved by the site,  they are going to want to get rid of bad credit sellers, just like bad swappers.

I sell credits frequently.  I always wait until I have confirmation from paypal before tranferring the credits.  I then buddy the credits right after.  If someone is taking a while to pay, and I'm going to be stepping away from my comptuer, I let them know when I'll be leaving and when I'll be back so they know when to expect them.  But usually I get the payment quickly and the credits are in their hands moments later. :)

I've purchased credits from several different members and generally they wait for confirmation of Paypal before sending the credits.  There was one very sweet member here who went ahead and sent me the credits before I did the transaction, which was very much unexpected and so nice (but then that's how this member is anyway).

I sent someone money through Paypal and they didn't deliver, so I filed a claim through Paypal and got my money back within the day.

I have sold about 2000 credits so far and never gotten stiffed.  I take Pay Pal and there is probably quite a bit of protection there, but a money order is absolutely safe, too.  I have even taken personal checks, most of the time from members that I am acquainted with, (though not always) and have sent the credits before the checks clear.   That may be unreasonably gullible, but I have never gotten a bad check or one that didn't clear without difficulty.

The purchasers, however, are at a little bit of a disadvantage, because they sent the $ before they get the credits, but probably having a reputation as having sold a lot of them, or at least having been active on the site for quite awhile is very helpful/reassuring, I think.

For what it's worth, i have them for sale right now @ $3 each, usually in batches of 5 or more---especially if using PP, because their charges are a greater % for small amounts.
