I stumbled across this article today and thought I would share. Apparently, there are sites which are selling 2GB SD cards as 32GB cards by covering the sticker and reformatting them to appear larger.

If you are looking to buy a memory card, be sure to purchase from a known, reputable dealer.

Also, check that the size of the card printed on the card matches to the size stated on the package, no matter where you buy them.

I bought a 16gig microSD card at Stapes. Got it home and realized when I opened it that the microSC card itself said "4gig". Took it back to Staples and they tried to convince me that it was supposed to be that way when I found two on the self in security boxes, both said 16Gig on the outside, but on the card inside one said "4gig" and the other said "16gig".

So they could see that I wasn't fibbing and trying to exchange a smaller card I already had before for a bigger one.

They let me swap out the 4gig for the sealed 16 gig and they pulled the mislabled one left from the shelf. Figure it was a packaging mistake, but almost cost me 12 gig of space!
