THE STORY:

Husband and wife own a trucking company. They go to a party, wife leaves early and goes to bed. Awakes next morning to find husband asleep on sofa and his  partially naked secretary with him. 

Wife leaves him and files for divorce, moves to Alaska and goes to work for a trucking company. Husband buys the company and he denys they are divorced but she finds the papers in his briefcase.

He takes her with him in the ice truck convoy. There is a problem with one of the trucks, he is trapped under the trailer, she crawls under to hook a line to stablize it and rescue him.  He ends up in the hospital and they get re-married.

The secretary had staged the whole sofa scene (he was drunk and didn't know she was on the sofe with him);  husband fired her and the Happily Ever After End.

I have randomly pulled books out of my bookcase, trying to remember the title or the author - just doesn't work!

You ladies are so good at this - please help!

Ah, there it is!  Doesn't sound familiar to me, but I know someone here will get it.  Sounds like a good book!

Found the title and author through the posting of a wish-listed book offer to me this morning. Just happened to search the author for other postings.

Title is "Gentle Torment" by Johanna Phillips contained in a 2/1 Dorothy Garlock book "Loveseekers".

The story is 1 of 5 contemporary romances written under that pseudonym.

Thanks to Cris L (flash1of5) for unknowningly leading me to discovering the answer.  This has bugged me for months.
