I was doing a search on "Ragdolls" (cats) and saw a couple Ragdoll cat calendars come up in the search (none were available, all were from previous calendar years). Are monthly calendars allowed to be listed here? Don't think they'd have ISBN numbers and didn't think they'd qualify, but please correct me if I'm wrong. |

Calendars do usually have ISBNs, but the first line under what is not swappable says "Anything that is not a book (this includes calendars, coloring books, blank journals)." |

Yes calendars often have ISBN's and the data is imported into the PBS database No they should not be posted or swapped here (but it happens anyway), feel free to forward the informatin to TPTB or the Book Data team. |

What is posted above is true. Calendars often have ISBNs. They are often mistakenly added to our database from our book data source. They are NOT POSTABLE to PBS for credit. |

It's also helpful to tag them as "not postable." |

But do be forewarned that many items with ISBNs that are not books do get posted here. I accidently ordered what I thought was a book that turned out to be a deck of cards... it was called "52 ideas for ........". Nothing in the description said it was cards, but when I reported the transaction to PBS they said too bad I got what I ordered! |

TPTB's reaction to you surprises me, Jeanne. That's not right. |

Darn, and here I was hoping someone would post a Playboy calendar for 2014. Last Edited on: 11/25/13 10:04 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I have seen several cases where people order items that aren't technically postable, but are picked up by the database and aren't satisfied with their order. The team's position is that the requester should know what they are ordering before they order and that they should research an item beforehand. |

but Mary, when you are using the search function to find a book on a specific topic and these other items come up, without saying they are something other than a book, how is that the searcher's fault? |

Do you have a link to the ISBN for your cards? Usually the book details page does say what the item is or the book type is blank. Again, it is the requester's responsibility to know what they are ordering. |
