I feel like a dope, but I can't figure out how to copy my books from my Kindle Keyboard to Calibre. I plugged in the Kindle, it appeared on Calibre. There were so many choices under ADD BOOKS, I didn't know which one to pick.

Any help appreciated.

Get Kindle for PC its Free off the Amazon site then down load those from there.  IF your trying to remove the DRM from them 1st put Calibre on the computer then go to Apprentance Alf to get the tols to plug in the DRM removal  THE add the Kindle App then Download the ebooks a few at a time then transfer them to Calibre.

Make sure that when you plug in your Kindle and it shows up in Calibre, that you click on the Kindle Icon at the top. You need to make sure you're looking inside the Kindle.

Then select the books and right click. When you see "Add Books to Library" there shouldn't be any other choices. It should just copy the books over.

If you're seeing a lot of choices, then you're still inside the Calibre library, and not inside the Kindle.

if you have Calibre open, you can also simply drag & drop the files from your Kindle documents folder into the application, and it will add them.  you'll want want to skip all the little side files that each book has on the kindle, and just sort by file type to find the books.

i've never noticed a Kindle icon even when mine's plugged in - i'll have to look next time.  i just know it's there because the 'on device' column shows up, and the button to send things to the device.
