A bit dry but it is the California history you never knew existed. The role of that state in the Civil War is something not even taught in California History in the public school system in California or in the college California Studies. Too bad. It makes our state all that much more interesting. I'm keeping this on my history shelf until I can locate a hardcover version for permanent inclusion in my library.
