I have had this book in a special place on my bookshelf and every so often I dust it off and read it again. It's a real keeper, full of drama ( some of it not so pleasant), and well written. It is a tale of one's woman's journey to get back what she once had despite all the trials and tribulations on the way. A great book!

I thought the first part of the book was well-done with the heroine's revenge motive tautly plotted, but then the sheer number of characters and meandering side-events that seemed to exist simply to show the author's research really bogged it down by the end. The final showdown was a real letdown as well. 3 stars.
