Caligula is a drama concerning the evils of absolute power as it leads to corruption.

The Misunderstanding has an off-beat plot that is somewhat spoiled for the reader as the authors preface divulges the climax. What we have here is a lack of communication.

According to some, State of Siege occurs during the two and one-half year siege of Cadiz by the French (1810-1812). It is Camus protest against totalitarianism, particularly that of Hitler and Franco. His character, first introduced as The Man and later as The Plague, represents the despot. Its a bit too abstruse for me.

In The Just Assassins revolutionists are plotting a surgical strike against a Grand Duke in Czarist Russia. Be prepared for a great deal of philosophy and idealism.
