I am an adult who enjoyed reading this book. I became completely immersed in Kite's world. It's emotional, engaging, funny, dramatic and a fast read. It's also a book that can be given without objectionable content concern to a young reader. The main character is a young teen. The time is in the early 1970s. Racism, the Vietnam War, and family issues are interwoven in a story about a girl growing up. I recommend it to everyone.
