I enjoyed this book. I had just read another Mary Wesley novel that I also liked. I enjoy her characters and really felt like I had a good picture of the time she was describing. It was interesting in the way it bounced back and forth from the past and the present. It was a quick read as I felt really invested in it and wanted to know what was going to happen with all the characters.

I was drawn to the book because the author began writing at age 72. She should have started earlier. The book was delightful.
