So I offered up the last two books in a fantasy series that I wanted to send out together to save postage. I got a taker and I posted the books directly to the member's wishlist. Turns out the requester had RCs , one being - no ex-library books. One of the books is an ex-library book, (I had put that info in my initial post offering but I guess the requester didn't see it.) So I pm'd her to find out what she wanted to do. She doesn't want the books. So what I want to know is if I cancel the request because it doesn't meet the RCs, will the books go into the system? I'd really like to send them out together and if they go into the FIFO system, I'll have to send them separately. |

You can handle it a couple of ways I think. If you put your shelf on Vacation Hold and then deny the RCs the system should hold the books on your shelf and you can delete them before taking the Vacation Hold off. That makes me a little nervous hoping the system does what it should do. The other option may be to accept the RCs, then cancel the transaction. Its a little misleading because you are accepting the RCs when you know you can't meet them, but it is the cleanest way to remove the books from the system. |

I put my account on hold and then cancelled the books due to the RCs and it worked. Thanks for the help! |

the third option would have been to just hit the I Cannot Mail For Other Reasons. The system would then assume you can't mail them at all and not pass the offer to someone else. Then you just repost them to whomever you find to send them both to later. Last Edited on: 8/10/10 12:50 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
