i posted a bunch of books from my TBR pile yesterday (well, 20 out of 200...but that's still a lot!).

someone ordered a book that i KNOW has never been read before.  i accepted and printed off the label (well, hand wrote it like i do) and grabbed the book.

there is minimal water damage to the cover and cover pages.  so, now it's unpostable.  ARGH!

anyway...i pm'ed the person, explained, and offered any second book from my shelf for free, instead of canceling and then offering this book as the free one.

i guess my question is...how long should i wait to just cancel the order to begin with?  and with me already printing the label, will that affect the other person at all?

thanks in advance!

I guess it would depend on what day you clicked to mail by? I would wait until that time to cancel if you not hear back from the member.

Also, while it is too late for this scenario, it is always a good idea to give them a deadline, i.e. "If I don't hear from you by Tues. the 12th, I will cancel the order" etc.

Cheers,
