At the church's annual book sale last weekend I came across a bunch of these. I brought home 3 Virginians, and one of the other. They are Big, almost 10x14, full of illustrations, published by Children's Press of Chicago. 1969. I will keep them posted until they are gone. I am about halfway through Captains Courageous. Great story!

Are these the Educator's Library ones with pictures of objects or words defined in the margins??

If so, they are WONDERFUL!! We have most of the 15 or so titles they published.

Our favorite was Swiss Family Robinson because it showed most of the tropical plants and animals that we had never seen. It greatly enriched our study of the book!

It bwas the same with the nautical terms in Captains Courageous.
