Incest. Its ugly shadow lurks in more homes than most people realize. This sin, most commonly between father and daughter or stepdaughter, may affect more than half a million American families. It commonly goes unreported, untreated, because of hsame and fear of exposure.
This is Carol's story; a true, though anonymous, account of the nightmare of living with repeated abuse and neglect, longing for love and for a "real family". It is a journey into adult life with scars and fears. It is a discovery of hope and healing in Jesus Christ, and th building of a Chritian marriage-of adjustment and struggling to find wholeness and self-forgiveness.
Here is hope for others who have been afraid even to voice their fears and acknowledge past mistreatment. Carol's message is, "You are not alone." She writes, "I knewI had to face the truth and tell it inits entirety, no matter how painful the process. For only the truth, bitter as it was, could make me whole and set me free."
