This is my first Carolyn Jewel novel and I really enjoyed it! I enjoyed the characters who were well developed and the mystery involved was entertaining. I finished it in a day - great escape! I have Indiscreet in my TBR so I'm looking forward to that as well.

Rosie sent me this one-along with Lord Ruin and Stolen Love.  I really enjoyed those two and looking forward to the Spare.  Like Jewel's style alot.  Characters are well developed; motivations are well explained and true to the period.  And I have Scandal and Indiscreet to look forward to as well.

Just have to finish Evangaline Collin's "Her Ladyship's Companion" which is knock your socks off good-well worth the wait on WL-just can't quite picture a "happy" HEA-but it's a romance so it's gonna be there, right?

I really enjoyed The Spare as well. I finished it in two days, I think, and I go back and re-read some parts at times as well. Jewel did a really good job of establishing the atmosphere and the tension between the couple, and I liked the way she incorporated the ghost into the plot.

Jan - I'm glad to hear Her Ladyship's Companion is good. The plotline intrigued me, and I put it on my wishlist at a whim. I think I've still got a long wait though, because the line moves pretty slowly. I saw it up for bid on ebay for 0.99, but I didn't check it at the last minute and got outbid by about 5 cents. :(

I read Scandal & I know I liked it - wrote a pretty positive review - but I can't remember a lot about it.  I meant to try out some more Jewel books & just haven't gotten around to finding any.  Think I will try this one.

I read Lord Ruin and The Spare years ago and liked both.  The Scandal is my favorite, one of my top books last year.
