We picked this up while on a "self-catering" vacation in the Caribbean, and it came in very handy when trying to figure out how to cook with the local produce. As it happens, I'm not a great fan of most West Indian dishes -- but if you are, or if you're planning to visit the area, this would be a worthwhile read. A few of the recipes call for exotic ingredients (callaloo, eddoe) that might require a trip to an ethnic market, but most of them can be made with ingredients from an ordinary grocery store.
