I had some issues with my carrier getting used to the new regulations. I wrote the weight on my most recent packages and the asst. postmaster thanked me profusely - I think her word was "brilliant"! I have to weigh the packages anyway, and it helps ME to write the weight right on them so I won't get confused when it is time to add postage. Anyway, thought this might help, since our carriers do not carry scales and can't tell the difference on the spot between 12 oz and 14 oz... - Amanda |

Yep. I've done that with books I mailed with stamps and all went through. Seems to be well liked by MY post office - your mileage may vary ;~) |

You mean write it right on the package....with a sharpie?? |

I don't do it with a sharpie, but I do it with a pen, down at the bottom. |

No, I'd advise putting the weight on a post-it note and attaching to the book. You don't want to confuse anybody. You know some of you are having problems anyway with these media mail things you're mailing at your local PO. Just a little note attached saying 'This only weighs 8 oz.' should be good enough. |
