Poor kid! Born with both a slight disability and a talent for art, into a family that doesn't have much use for him. Just when things start looking up and he finds a way to use his talent to help him cope with a life of poverty, everything crashes down around him. The way he fights to retain what matters most to him, and the lessons he learns from this fight, are touching without being sappily sentimental.
