Miss Lydia Peartree was looking forward to an afternoon pleasure cruise off the coast of Devon. But she didn't expect the captain of the Rook to have the appearance of a pirate and the manners of a sea dog. Captain Matthew Frobisher, once a spy for king and country, now spends his time training young men in the are of espoinage. To his chagrin, his superiors have saddled him with a silly society chit on what was supposed to be a voyage for his students.
But the captian is surprised by Lydia's courage during a squall that would send most women belowdecks.
