This book's overarching theme is cooperation and communication. When Ariel's friend, Scuttle, crashes into her sand castle accidentally, Ariel is angry. But so is Scuttle because Ariel was building her sand castle in HIS landing strip! Good communication wins the day and all remain friends after all! Cute!
