Thanks ladies. No rest for the wicked, unfortunately. Month end close out, miserable weather and traffic. *pouts*

Happy Birthday, Cathy!

Let's go to the party Deb is hosting ... looks like a great time to me ... but only if I can have one of those hats!

Deb's wine and chocolate party looks pretty good. As for books, I had a nice haul at the FOL sale last weekend. For a whopping $8.50 I got all of these (stop at the Noel Barber book).

Thanks everyone.

PS, just to let those who think digging through the romance books is *beneath them* I found a Dorothy Dunnet, a Pulitzer price winner and one of the Anne of Green Gables books last weekend. You just never know.

PSS, I was pathetic, I scrounged through all the refill boxes on the floor as well as the romances on the table cheeky

Happy Birthday, Cathy!  I can tell you from experience, a lot of my sorters for the FOL sale are not very knowledgable and basically anything in mass market paperback gets divided in "women's" and "men's" and labelled "Romance" and "Mystery/Thriller".  Gender stereotypes, anyone??  LOL!

Yeah, let alone the preconceived notions some have that any cover that screams bodice ripper really and truly is a bodice ripper. There's some awfully good historicals hiding behind some of them. Look at those old Plaidy and or Frank Yerby covers to name two.

Cathy, a Happy Belated Birthday to you! Nice book haul though!! I missed our last FOL sale and am pretty bummed. Then again, I really don't NEED any more books...haha, who am I kidding? Of course I do! :) But I digress! I hope you had a lovely birthday and I wish you many, many more of them!

I really, really need to stay away from them. The county has too many branches. I am able to talk myself out of going to the ones at the far north end of the county (driving time + horrendous traffic), but when they're just 20 or so minutes away...
