Patricia Cornwell writes about Kay Scarpetta, a chief medical examiner, and the cases she works. Her books are well written, informative, intriguing; thrillers from a woman's point of view.

This is one of the few paperback series that I have kept. They are intelligently written from a professional woman's point of view. Very detailed. A small amount of formula doesn't detract from the entertainment value. I have read this series again and again.

A man turns up dead in a navy shipyard. It's up to Kay Scarpetta to recover the body and determine the cause of death. As she trys to piece together the events leading up to his death, circumstances change to envelop the safety of the whole eastern seaboard.when a nuclear plant is terrorized.

Kind of a anti-climatic non-relevant end to the story. Lots of details were included I suppose to impress that the author had done her research, but they weren't necessarily interesting and didn't add to the story.
