I read this for a class I was taking and it was one of the most deeply, thought provoking books I've read in a while. I learned alot about myself in this reading experience. It is a how to better your life book with careful instruction on keeping close to God without beind dictated to book. I enjoyed the freedom it gave me after answering many question about my spiritual path and guidance I had followed thus far. I highly recommend it and would give it 10 out of 10 rating.

Very good book! I read it when I first became a believer and was a little overwhelmed, I read it again years later and it still has lots of good information! There are many disciplines to "celebrate" so it is good for Christians at any part of their spiritual journey.

Fabulous book. Make plans to read it every year or two.

For the Christian who is ready to move from baby 'pap' to more solid food, a study of Christian discipleship. As Oswald Chambers reminded us that God doesn't need wimps, Richard Foster shows a way to become strong, mature Christians.

Minimal markings; used in a college class. Foster does a great job of explaining and capturing the spiritual disciplines.
