I have some desirable brand new cookbooks that I want to use to get my upmost wanted wishlist books ...

How would this work?  There are particular books I want to hurry up and get.  If someone has the book(s) I want, I need to be sure he/she gets my book in return.

Look at my wishlist for only these books:

  • Career Coward
  • Damn Good Resume
  • Garden Mosaics
  • Making a Living ... eBay
  • Perfect Apron
  • Perfect Match
  • Sew So Cute

These are the brand new cookbooks I can swap:

  • Carolina Sunshine Then & Now 0965202003
  • Charlotte Cooks Again 0961321423
  • The Charlotte Cookbook 0961321407
  • Out of Our League (Greensboro NC) 2 copies 0960578803
  • Southern Sideboard (still in shrink wrap) 0960688609
  • You're Invited 0963171038
  • Recipes from Our Front Porch (Hemlock Inn --- Bryson City NC) 0939114658

I think the only allowed way to do this is after you have an agreement, you post your book directly to their WL, they post theirs directly to yours.

Actually, you're not allowed to do it at all because you're not allowed to "ask" for wishlist books. And since you're not a boxer you're not allowed to swap without using credits -- and I believe that only applies to books posted on your shelf anyhow.

You are going to have to put yourself on the wishlist like everyone else and wait your turn. You may however post your books (unsolicited by the other person) any way that you choose, be it FIFO, offered in one of the acceptable forums (see paragraph below) or to  a specific person's wishlist.

There are some forums that have particular threads that OFFER wishlisted books (paranormal, mystery and L&R are the three I'm on regularly) so you can offer up yours but you may not ASK anywhere on PBS for a wishlisted book.

You can ask for or offer unpostable WL books on this forum

How would this work?

It would not. It breaks many of the rules of this site. Please read the rules of the Book Bazaar in the red sticky thread at the top of the Bazaar. You cannot ask for or offer postable WL books and you cannot do creditless book-for-book swaps with members unless you are both members of the Box of Books programs. If the site catches members on the site arranging creditless swaps between non-BoB members, both of their memberships could be in jeopardy.

You can offer your postable WL books in some of the Genre Forums, they have threads set up for that if they do it. You cannot ask for postable WL books anywhere on the site, it is considered rude to attempt to jump the WL lines.

If you want to try to legitimately trade a WL book for another WL book, you can try the Games Forum. There is no guarantee that you get a book off of your WL in most of the games, but you have an opportunity to trade your WL book for another without waiting in the lines.
