If I counted right seven people are participating in the October challenge to finish challenges.  Last chance!  I found this challenge almost (not quite) kept me working on my challenges this month.

I finished the contemporary challenge and came close on YA and HF mini mystery (-1 in each).  Well, I almost finished three.  November will see me winding these two up!  Diane, I'm counting you since you entered your counts on Oct. 31.  Who said you couldn't enter on the last day?  Certainly, not me.  I enter challenges any time during the year.

Please list your books and the challenges where they belong, including the total for each challenge, as a reminder I'm repeating the information from the first entry on this challenge:

Some of us, myself included, tend to enroll in what may be too many reading challenges.   In addition, I sign up for light challenges and find myself reading for as many categories as I can.  With this in mind I'd like to suggest a challenge to finish what we started.   I'll give a credit to the top three people who finish the most challenges this month (October).  It doesn't matter what genre(s) you list.  In addition, I'll provide a WL book at random (my choice from your WL), drawn out of a hat, to someone who participates in this challenge.  So you don't have to read many titles to win.  Hope to see you on this thread!

I read the Sand-Reckoner to finish the Historical Ficiton Challenge.  Not a winner, I'm sure, but happy to have finished this challenge.

I did NOT officially join but I'll report my progress anyway!  smiley  I read 7 challenge books in October (all the books I read this month were for challenges).

2 books were the last books required, so I finished the Historical Fiction Mystery Challenge (with Alms for oblivion by Philip Gooden) and the Contemporary Fiction Challenge (with Finding Nouf by Zoe Ferraris).  I should have also read the last book for the Nonfiction Challenge but half way through the book I was reading I realized it wasn't a book I wanted to finish, so that didn't work.

The other 5 books I read were: 2 for the Historical Fiction Challenge and 3 for the Mystery Challenge.  i still have 2 books each to read to finish these 2 challenges--meaning a total of 5 books to finish the 3 remaining challenges.

I will try my best to finish in November, and then spend December reading Scandinavian mysteries!

I didn't think I did anything in Oct for challenges, but maybe I did.  Depends on if the mini-challenge for series counts, but IIRC, that was limited to September only, right?

I read 8 books in Oct, including finishing Dunnett's Lymond series.  But that's only one book.

And I've started The October Horse, and I'll finish that series next year as part of the 2013 HF Challenge.

I'm sick and trying to finish this challenge up but if I don't get it done before Friday when I have to leave town I'll do it next week.  OK all?
