A woman is driving through a Nevada town to get to California for the christmas holidays, she has a flat and must wait for it to be repaired. While window shopping she and a small boy are abducted. The kidnappers abandon them in the snow high in the mountains, by chance a sheep herder finds them and the resulting time of the holiday as they continue to hide from their kidnappers who are also looking for refuge from the storm. It's a story about love and growth and survival.
This is a typical LDS romance novel. But you know what? I liked it. In fact, I'll confess--I really like LDS romances. It was raining a bit today, and I read the whole thing during my baby's nap. Very relaxing and it made me feel optimistic. What more could I ask?
I read this one straight through and absolutely enjoyed every minute. The characters are all inspiring and the tension is just enough to be concerned for them, but not creepy or violent. The concern each for the other is touching. A really nice read.
