I did a quick search to see if this had been posted before, but I didn't see anything.  I would like to have the ability to not see books on my bookshelf  when I do a search.

Here is an example; I collect weather/meteorology books. I already have over 80 books, a lot of which came from PBS. When I do a search for "Weather", I see a lot of books I already have. I would like an option to remove those books from the search results. Maybe you could match up the TBR list and remove anything on it, or maybe books from the transaction log, although the transaction log idea might not be best, since it also includes books you have requested, but could not be sent.

Maybe even a "remove from search results" button, so I could remove books one at a time from search results and never see them again, like Google does with it's search results.

Hopefully enough other people find this functionality useful and it is something that wouldn't be to hard to code.

Hi - I don' think you can have that type of filtering capability. (you may know this - so apologize if you do) I know when you do a search if you have the book on your bookshelf.  For example I have Carolyn Hart's (Set Sail For Murder) on my  bookself.  I go to book browser and do a search - the version I have is tagged bookshelf.  if I just do a general serach for Carolyn Hart the same information is displayed on any of her books I have on my bookshelf.   I just scroll past the books I have.

You can always go to Contact Us at the bottom right of the page (all pages) under Company and send a suggestion.   If you received the survey that would be the opportunity to add this suggestion.

I could see it work when there is an author that publishes alot of books it could come in handy, but I also have books as keepers of an author - so that would come up on the list.  Something to think about.

If you do the search regularly, consider this:

Search, Advanced Search. Enter search terms at the top, as usual. Scroll to the bottom of the window.

Under "Narrow Your Results," change "Recent Posts Only" to "Yes -- 7 Days" or " Yes -- 24 Hours," depending on how often you run this search.

Thank you for both replies. I did know about the extra links in the quick description. I have also tagged most of the books I have in my collection too, so I can skip past the ones I have listed pretty quickly.

I also knew about limiting the range, but that doesn't help either, even if I limit to a small amount of time, I will still get books I already have.

I guess I was under the impression that some of the code monkeys and offcial type people read this forum, I will use the "Contact Us" link instead.

Again, I do appreciate the replies.
