Is it possible to change a user name? As you can see, mine is lj-florida. Since I'll be moving, I'd like to change it to something like lj-Oregon when I do. Is that possible?

Yes but I think  they will only allow a nickname change once. I know when I got divorced they allowed me to change my name here because my first nickname was a variation of my exes Naval Air call sign. 

So if you move every few years, you might want to do something besides the state or you might be stuck with it the next time you move.

Name changes can only be made by PBS admin (and not often), so contact them when the time is right and you are sure. 

Have you considered using just the initials (or something else) and letting your profile settings add the state?  ...like mine (and Mary above).  You can change it back and forth in your privacy settings and doesn't require a more formal name change.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I'll change it to something that doesn't have the state in it. I just realized I'll want to change my icon too, from the Florida orange to an Oregon.... hmmmm.. what? Raindrop? LOL

I'll sure miss seeing  your Florida orange; it's one of my favorites on PBS.

Oh I too will miss the orange.  When I was posting to your thread yesterday my toddler came in and was facinated by the "talking orange."  We then had a five minute discussion on whether or not oranges could really talk and if they did should we eat them  

I like the orange too.  He's so bright and happy. 

You can always move the orange to your siggie line.   I identify folks by avatars.  So having them move down will help me remember who you are.

I think I'm stuck with some sort of Sheldon Cooper avatar.  I get regular PMs from people who love the Big Bang Theory. 

Count me as one of the people that would miss your orange avatar!  I think it is sooo cute. (I also use avatar pics to help me ID people on the site, so there is temporary confusion for me when a member I "know" changes theírs.)
