So, I ordered a book. Turns out the sender forgot to mark it mailed, and the request had rolled over to the next perosn in line. The original sender asked if I would be able to give her credit for the book when I received it.

Truthfully, I didn't realize it had rolled over to another sender, because when I ordered it it was the only copy in the system. The book arrived today. Thankfully, I was able to cancel the order from the second member, as the wrapper hadn't been printed yet. (I did PM that member to let them know why I had cancelled).

So I then marked the copy sent by the first member received from my Transaction Archive.

Lo and behold, I was charged a $0.49 swap fee when I marked the book received frm my Transaction Archive. This, after I paid a free swap from my Limited Membership for this book.

From my Free Swap registry:

3/13/2016 6:14 PM ET
-1

 From my PBS Money registry:

3/21/2016 6:43 PM ET -0.49

And sure enough, my PBS money is down by $0.49. What gives? I did send in feedback, but I'm hoping someone here can tell me that this is NOT how it's supposed to happen. In essence I got charged 2 swap fees for the same book simply because I marked this one received from my Transaction Archive. I hope they fix this--not just my individual case, but in the system--as I do not want to be deducted an extra $0.49 just because I marked something received from my Transaction Archive and not my main page. I think I did the right thing by giving the first sender credit, since I was still able to cancel the second (rollover) order--but doing the right thing just cost me $0.49.

Hoping TPTB fix this for me.

When the order rolled over to the second sender, your original swap fee went along with it, and when you then canceled the 2nd order, you should have been refunded that swap fee.

So you should have paid 2 swap fees, with one credited back when you canceled that order.

There was no refund of any swap fees. The last activity on my free swap registry was on 3/14. I cancelled the order today.

Just to clarify: did you manually send the 1st sender a credit? A credit would have been released to her when you marked it received in your transaction archive automatically. If you manually sent her a credit too, perhaps that's throwing a spanner in the works...

I did not manually send or buddy any credits. The first sender asked if I would do that, but I wanted there to be a record of the transaction. Hence, I cancelled the request from the second sender, and then marked the copy I received from the first sender received from my Transaction Archive. As you can see from my OP, I was then charged $0.49 in PBS money for marking a book received from my TA. That's what I don't get. I "paid" my swap fee when I first requested the book. Technically that swap fee should've been refunded when I cancelled the request from the second requestor, and then re-charged to me when I marked the book received from my TA. But that didn't happen. I was simply charged a free swap at the time of the initial request. Which is fine, because it all balances out. But why was I ever charged PBS Money for this same request, especially when I already paid my free swap and I have 65 free swaps sitting there??? IMHO my PBS money should not have been touched!

ETA: Still waiting for a response to the feedback I sent in.

I agree with your thoughts on this, Sheryl. I'm curious to see what TPTB have to say about it.

TPTB replied back today. They refunded me the $0.49 and are looking into why this happened.
