Here are some Q&A's from a recent signing by Charlaine Harris for the release of Grave Secret. Paraphrased because I did not take notes, just what I can remember. There was a 30 min Q&A then LOTS of people lining up to have books signed.

Q: Will there be anymore Sookie books.
A: Contracted for 3 more, not counting the one coming out in May 2010

Q: Will Quinn come back.
A: Quinn will be in a novella that is being written and will be given a chance to "make his case"

Q: Where did the idea of Bubba come from.
A: "A flash of lunacy". Was watching Men In Blackand saw the sceen where they were showing all the people who were really aliens and thought."He's a vampire". No, he will not be in the HBO series. Can't get the real Elvis and a imitator would be too cheesey.

Q: Favorite character
A: Aurora Teagarden

Q:A question about Dana Pelt
A: She was everyone I did not like or was mean to me. "I enjoyed killing her" The nice thing was I could kill her in different ways. Chop her to bits then resurect her and blast her with a shotgun.

Q: Favorite Sookie book.
A: Altogether Dead. Just loved sliding down the side of the pyrimid.

Q: I know you were in the last episode of True Blood, but did not see you, Where were you?
A: Sitting at the bar, talking to Sam. Actually had one line, so now I can join the screen actors guild. :-)

Q: I know Grave Secret is the last Harper book. Do you have any new series planned?
A: Yes. Just have to see how things go. Suscessful enough to write what I want. :-)

A few tidbits. She writes everyday, its her job. She reads 3-6 books a week. Can't remember the last time she had a vacation.

There was more , but I just can't jog my old brain.

Darn. No Bubba in the show? That makes me sad. :(

Yeah. You could hear a collective groan when she said that.

Big fat bummer about Grave Secret being the last book.  I love this series.  Thanks for the info Jay.

Your welcome. I know there was more, but these were the high points I remembered.

Oh one more.

Q: Are any of the men based on your husband.

A: My husband has a lot of good qualities, but he's not a viking :-)

I would have loved to ask her if the show was going to follow the story line with Eric.  I think the fact that Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are engaged may cause a problem with that, which would SUCK.  I like Eric and Sookie much better.  Also, will she change her direction in the book due to that, because the last book seemed she might be heading back in the Bill direction in the future.
