Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Waltham, as follows : Section ... more »1. The Board of Directors of the Public Library shall meet on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of March in each year, or as soon thereafter as convenient, and organize by the choice of a Chairman and a Clerk,who shall be one of their own number; shall cause a record of its proceedings to be kept by its Clerk, and shall make a report thereof to the Board of Aldermen at the close of each financial yearr with such suggestions and recommendations as they deem proper. Sect. 2. The Board of Directors of the Public Library shall have the general supervision of the appropriations made for the Public Library. They shall have full power to expend the same in the purchase of such books, periodicals and newspapers as they may select, and in defraying all the expenses for the support and maintenance of the institution, except such as belong to the Commissioners of Public Buildings and Grounds; provided, that the compensation of the Librarians shall be fixed by the Board of Aldermen. Said Board may make all needful rules and regulations concerning said Library and the use and management thereof. Approved December 28, 1885, AN OKDINANCE CONCEKNING LICENSES, Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Waltham, as follows: AUCTIONEERS. Section 1. Every person licensed as an auctioneer, shall1 give a bond in the sum of two hundred dollars, to the City Treasurer, with sufficient sureties to be approved by the Board of Aldermen, with condition that he shall in all things conform to the laws relating to auctioneers, and shall pay for the license the sum of two dollars.
