I am not a big thriller//mystery reader but i do like some of them (really liked Girl with the Dragon Tatoo for example).
Anyway, I just finished the Chemistry of Death by a fairly new British writer. It was pretty good - the book kept me interested and I liked the characters. The part that I didn't like - but many mysteries are like this... "it was the blond man who did it with a candlestick in the den" - I mean, it sometimes seems like the 'who dun it" could have been anybody and they decided at the last chapter or two who to pin it on...lol. Maybe i just don't know how to read mysteries, but so many of them strike me that way!
I still think this new writer has a lot of promise. |
