I used this with a fifth grader, and we loved it! The experiments are not complicated and work very well to get the point across. The information that is learned is excellent, and the drawings used to illustrate the text are helpful. Plus, the pages are printed on a glossy paper which is so unusual for textbooks like this. The information in this book is similar to the Pre-Level 1 book of the same author, just more in-depth. Use this with kids from third grade up to about fifth grade, and maybe even a sixth grader. There is a lab workbook available that accompanies this text.
