Title:

Chicken Grape Salad

Dish: Salads
Dish Type: Pastas & Noodles
Cooking Method: Stove Top
Difficulty: 1 / 10
Servings: 6
Prep Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients
  • 1 cup - mayonnaise
  • 1 cup - western french dressing
  • 1 bunch - grapes
  • 1 can - chicken, flaked
  • 1 can - shoestring potatoes
  • 1 package - ring noodles
Directions

Boil noodles, drain, set aside.

Halve grapes, add to noodles.

Flake chicken into noodles and grapes.

Mix mayonnaise and frech dressing together, THEN add to noodles, grapes and chicken.

Add more or less dressing to taste.

Top with shoestring potatoes ON YOUR PLATE. If you add the shoestring potatoes to the dish and then have some leftover, the shoestring potatoes will get soggy and not taste very good when you eat it later.

Notes

This is called "Emily's Favorite Salad" in my house and I have made it for my family since I was 7. The recipe is not written down anywhere and I have just typed it from memory. It seems rather child-like, now that I re-read it, but that's how I've been doing it since I was one (a child, that is).

There has been some confusion and it seems I wasn't clear. Western is a brand of French dressing. I guess you can use Kraft or something, but I've only ever used Western. Ring noodles are made by Creamette and they are small rings made out of pasta. They look like tiny stitch holders for knitting.
