This book is a classic - not a trendy psych pop book. Good for parents who want to improve their parenting skills.

there is a crease in the top right corner of the front cover, otherwise great shape. I have not personally read this book

Loved this book. It was recommended to me from our childs Montessori teacher. It is full of postitive learning and teaching, rather than punishments for normal behavior. The book helps the parent "understand" why the child may be acting out. Great reading

This book represents a lifetime of experience with children - their problems, their delights, their challenges - as observed by one of America's most important psychiatrists.

In the foreward to Children, The Challenge, Dr. Dreikurs states "We do not suggest that parents be either permissive nor punitive. What parents have to learn is how to become a match for their chilren, wise to their ways and capable of guiding them without letting them run wild or stifling them."

While many parents have discovered for themselves the ways of dealing effectively with family situations, many more have not. Children: The Challenge is designed to meet the needs of all parents - to enable those who can deal with their children to formulate a consistent philosophical approach, as well as to point the way toward tested solutions for those who so far have been less successful.

A most helpful and interesting book.

This is actually a soft back book. But the paperback system read it as a hardback sorry.
