Wonderful. Tearful. Honest. Sad. I would not recommend this for younger readers though. Teens to adults will find it facinating and difficult to put down.

The stories are from children who lived through the bombings, roundups, registrations, and more. Very detailed and honest as seen through the eyes of children.

Insightful glimpses into the short lives of these children. Very good.

I wasn't all that thrilled with this but that's not because I think it's a "bad" book. I'm just more into one person stories rather than so many short ones at one time.
This is a bunch of diary excerpts from kids- they reange in age from about 9 or 10 ro 16 or 17 if I remember correctly. I got about halfway through and just decided to quit.
The others I happen to know who have read this all liked it and spoke highly of it. If you're okay with not really getting to know the people you're learning about this will be okay I'd think but I like to get more involved with the people/characters so this wasn't for me.
