Carrie Carter was stranged on a deserted icy road in the wilds of Wyoming, until gruff recluse Jack Holt offered her shelter from the storm. She accepted, never anticipating that passion would drive them together and that their secret child would be the result. But her child's father was not a man to give his trust or love easily. Hard lessons had taught Jack not to let anyone get too close. And unless Carrie could break down Jack's barriers, this secret mother would be faced with raising her baby alone.

Christine Flynn's depiction of Wyoming winter storms is dead-on. This is a wonderful story that keeps you guessing how Carrie will ever warm up this guy, who is rude and cold as the Wyoming winter. And how she helps pull him from his self-made darkness to learn to care, trust and live again.

As always, Christine's books tug at the heart, just before she pushes all your melt-down buttons. I highly recommend you read this beautiful story.
