Rev. Jon Richards, the superintendent of Port Elizabeth Circuit, met me at the wharf, and kindly conducted me to his house. Brother Hardey had written to him that I was coming, but he did not know definitely when, so there was no announcement of our contemplated meetings. Brother Richards was very glad to have me hold a series of services, but thought it a most unfavourable time to commence, because of a number of counter attractions : -- " 1.
