I posted another thread yesterday on that. Several views but no responses. Yes, most of the characters are new. Aparently, there are (at least) 3 Ghostwalker teams made of military men upon whom the experiments were peformed. This book is about the 3rd team. Later in the book there's one small appearance by a female villain we've seen before and a few of the previous characters are mentioned in passing. But for the most part, it's all new people. Kane (second in command) was a guard in the camp where they did the breeding experiments and he was paired with and impregnated one of the girls who escaped (future book). I haven't gone back to look, but he might have been mentioned in passing in the book where they destroyed the camp and freed the girls. I also had a tough time with this book. My biggest problem was that it repeated the emotional angst about Jaimie leaving the main character. I thought they seemed to revisit that every 3rd page. I'd suggest plogging through because if you are interested in the series, this is the next link (although a weak one.) In my mind, the book was way too long for what the plot had to offer. I normally read a book in one sitting, but I kept falling asleep with this one and had to finish it the next day. That's pretty rare for me. She really disappointed me with this book. I've always loved her books but not this one. It just feels like someone else is writing them but maybe she has lost her knack. The last few haven't been up to par. |
