Dear Romance Readers,

I would like to know more about this author and her books.  Do you love her work, or hate it?  Which novels would you recommend?

I googled Christine Monson.  I found that her romances were known as "bodice rippers."  She is the author of the following historical romances -- RANGOON, STORMFIRE, GOLDEN NIGHTS, THE FIRERY SPLENDOR, A FLAME RUN WILD, and SURRENDER THE NIGHT.

Has anyone read any of them?

Anna,

She's the author of one of the most notorious romance novel called Stormfire. Which is a  very, VERY dark romance story with rapes, beatings and other torments that a woman OR a man can go through.  It is next to impossible to buy this book cheap these days, if you can even  find it that is.    She's also well known because she committed  suicide.  In addition, this theme is worked into some of her work.   Stormfire I heard has it ( heroine thinks of killing herself),  and one book I read by her,  Flame Run Wild, which had a hero who thought of and planned to kill himself if the heroine died.  I mean, its not one of those books where its just said, you could -feel- that he WILL do it.  Kinda spooky if you think about it.  I remember feeling such anguish....

I didn't reply before because I've only read one by this author, was hoping someone else would be more informative.    From that one book I read (Flame Run WIld), her writing was superb, her plot line completely absorbing, wonderful character development, this author has talent, undoubtedly.   This book didn't have any cheating, they didn't torment each other... very different then what Stormfire is suppose to be like.  I miss the days when romance books were written like this, love story with a great plot line.

To answer your question, I LOVED this book, and would recommend it to any hist romance fans looking to read a  heart-felt, emotional love story.

I second Susanna's wow!

Tina, thank you for your response.  Like Susanna, I don't think I'm up for reading STORMFIRE, but FLAME RUN WILD ("a heart-felt emotional story")  appeals to me.
