Although Amazon lists the "reading level" of this book for ages 6-8, the beautiful, intricate artwork of the angels make them suitable for older children with more patience (although younger ones can still do them, of course).

There's no further details, but the angels are in a variety of artistic styles, such as: "After 'Italian Breviary' c. 1380"; "After 'Anne of Cleves' by Hans Holbein, c. 1540"; "After 'St. Macarius of Alexandria,' from the School of Rublev, Russia, late 16th century" and so on. A motivated parent could use them for mini introductions to art.

They could also be creatively finished by a adult. Hmm, I probably shouldn't think of this, but you could even scan and enlarge them for personal use.

From the back cover:

Christmas angels to cut out and color!

This festive collection of 12 angels, based on works of art from all over the world, can be cut out and colored with paint, felt-tip pens, or colored pencils. Sparkle them up woth gold and silver paint, stars, and glitter! They look beautiful hanging on your Christmas tree, dancing across your dinner table, or swinging from a mobile made of thread and thin branches. And when Christmas is over you can unfold them and store them away for the next year.

From me:

The 12 angels are printed on the front and back of each heavy page and would be a beautiful craft project for an older child.
