Is it tacky to give my sons 2nd gd. teacher money for Christmas ?  I thought of a B&N giftcard,  but I know some ppl forget to use them, or maybe she doesnt like Barnes & Noble.   I just know she has bought supplies for projects in class and never asked for $.   TIA

Instead of cash, which would make me uncomfortable, how about a Wal-Mart, Target,  or local teacher store gift card?  You could also ask her for a list of needed supplies and make her a basket with as many of them as you wish to give.

By the way - it is very nice of you to notice and want to help!

Thanks for the input.  I was unsure which way to go, I think I will do a gc from our teachers store or Walmart.

I am a teacher, and in a few years I may have to add on to my has to make room for the knick-knacks that I get for Christmas each year.  I personally would love to get a gift card from one of the above mentioned stores.  Additionally I love to get office/classroom supplies.  For example, colored paper, pens, pencils, STICKY NOTES, EXPO markers, etc.
