I have the book, and it is really great for people with kids...but I also got the CD recently....it is awesome!!!  I recommend it...there are so many fun songs on it....DD loves it too!!  We have most of the songs memorized already and can't seem to stop singing them!!  There is a really nice lullaby too, I love it!!!!!!!  One of my friends wants a copy of it, lol...I was telling her about it and so I am going to bring it over next time I see her...

This song has been stuck in my head!

circle round the sunrise, circle round the breeze,

circle round the flame inside us dancing free,

circle round the oceans, the waters of our birth,

circle round the stars at night and circle round the earth!

OOOhhhhhhh

circle round, circle round

reach for the sky,

stomp on the ground, (4x)

circle round for freedom, all across the world

circle round for happiness for every boy and girl

circle round for love, from our head down to our toe

circle round and spread it round wherever you may go

chorus 4x

we dance upon the earth as it circles round the sun

this planet we call home is such a special one

and so we give our thanks for what this day may bring

giving us another chance to circle round and sing!

Sounds cool - how old is your DD?  My son J is 4 and he *loves* music.

We sing Earth-centered songs like that in UU church - it's one of the things I miss about not attending services anymore.

Ems is 8...and she loves music..we actually have our 'music in meriden' concert coming up..and her grade has been studying native americans this year..so we have some native american songs and chants that are going to be sung..I can't wait to see it...She practices the words in her head so that what they are singing will be a surprise, lol!

When my kids were little we'd sing songs about Mother Nature and the Goddess and the Moon and the Wheel of the Year.  There was a great website I used, especially for Yule songs.  Let me do a search and see if I can find it--

http://home.intranet.org/~maggi/links/chants.html

Now that link has some old stuff on it, but I checked, and still many songs and chants to enjoy!
