I read a few pages at noontime today and find it is still a very good book--I read it over fifty years ago. The author spoke to a great many people who actually knew W. R. Hearst which is invaluable because, as he notes, many of the reports regarding his doings in other newspapers were biased--W.R.H. was not the only practitioner of yellow journalism.
We visited Hearst Castle in the summer of 1958 and mom really enjoyed seeing it. Dad tended to us kids.....
